Fenerbahçe, Benfica’s opponent in the 3rd qualifying round of the Champions League, held the fifth pre-season match this Wednesday. Against Cagliari, the Turks benefited from the accuracy of Alper Potuk to win by 2-1.

At the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium, Phillip Cocu fielded the following starting XI: Demirel; Maurício Isla, Neustadter, Skrtel, Hasan Ali; Elif Elmas, Souza, Giuliano; Valbuena, André Ayew and Alper Potuk. The forward was the standout performer, with a brace at 51’ and at 56’. The Italians pulled one back through Marco Sal at 68’.

Benfica and Fenerbahçe are set to lock horns on August 7, at 8 pm, at the Estádio da Luz, and on August 14, at 9 pm local time, less two hours in mainland Portugal, at the Sukru Saracoglu Stadium.
