At 8 pm on Tuesday, August 7, the professional football team of Benfica will play in the 3rd qualifying round of the Champions League, against the Turks of Fenerbahçe, and one thing is sure: it will have the support of nearly 60 thousand fans at the Estádio da Luz. The capacity for the first official match of 2018/19 is sold out!

After a demanding pre-season, that had a positive balance, as was pointed out by the coach Rui Vitória, the eagles will tackle the tie against the Turk vice-champions. To reach the group stage of the Champions League is the first objective of the new season.

To get where it wants, Benfica must beat Fenerbahçe and, after that, prevail over Spartak Moscow or PAOK, the possible opponents in the play-off.

The second leg of the 3rd qualifying round will be held in Istanbul on August 14 (Tuesday), at 7 pm in mainland Portugal (9 pm in Turkey).
