World Champion! The benfiquista Fernando Pimenta won, this Saturday, the K1 1000m Final in the World Championship which takes place until Sunday, in Montemor-o-Velho.

The three-time European Champion has completed the final in 3.27,666 minutes and became World Champions for the first time in History. In the final, beat the German Max Rendschmidt and the Czech Josef Dostál.

On the Club's Official Website, the Presidente Luís Filipe Vieira shows himself pleased with another great victory.

"Congratulations, Fernando Pimenta! It is with enormous pride that Benfica contributes for your success, which is also the country's glory. All the Portuguese, the Benfiquistas in particular, believe that you will win again tomorrow, in the K1 5000 category. Go, champion!", declared the leader of Sport Lisboa e Benfica.

On Sunday, Fernando Pimenta competes for the world title in K1 5000.

Liga BPI | Cristina Prieto receives trophy for Best Player

Elected Best Player of the Liga BPI 2024/25 in the vote organized by the Players' Union, Cristina Prieto, Benfica's women's football team, received the trophy at Benfica Campus. Grateful for the distinction, the Spanish international told BTV about her “good season” and didn't forget the rest of the Reds' players. "It's an individual award and I couldn't have won it without my teammates. It was the team that made me win this award," said the goalscorer, who is in her first season at the club. "You never think the first year will be like this. I'd like to thank everyone who voted for me and the Benfiquistas. It's an award that shows that the season went well," said Cristina Prieto, an important element in winning the Fifth League Title in a row.

Pavlidis reaches 50 games with an eagle on his chest

Pavlidis reached his 50th appearance for Benfica's professional football team in the 1-2 over Estoril, on matchday 32 of the Liga Betclic, on May 3. The Greek international, signed at the start of the 2024/25 season, has 28 goals and 10 assists in the games he has played, in around 3,290 minutes of use. The No14 has 32 games and 18 goals in the Liga Betclic, 12 games and 7 goals in the Champions League, 3 games and 1 goal in the Portuguese Cup, as well as 3 games and 2 goals in the League Cup.
