With 11 interceptions, Gedson was elected Man of The Match in the derby. But the young midfielder has refused and individual award. “It was thanks to my teammates”, he said.

“We did a great match. We had always the ball possession and were better than the opponent. We are going to start working for the next match and we are focused on the victory in Greece”, analyzed to BTV.

His good performances have turned him into a starter in Rui Vitória’s team and, tonight, gave him the Man of the Match award.

“We are all one and have to run for all. If I managed to complete so many interceptions it was because of the positioning, the tactical culture of the club and the team work”, he highlighted, adding: “I’m very happy, but I also know that it was thanks to my teammates.”

In an emotional match 5 that only ended in black, the Eagles triumphed 3-2 thus winning this frantic play-off final by the same score. 50 years after their last victory, the Benfica Museum - Cosme Damião once again received the trophy for the National Women's Volleyball Championship.
