The Benfica's opponents in Group E of the Champions League had a successful weekend. Ajax, Bayern and AEK won the three points in their respective National Championships.

The last one to play was Ajax. Currently in  the 2nd place of the dutch league, with 10 points (3V and 1D), the team from Amsterdam clearly beat Vitesse, away, 0-4, in Round 4.

Ajax and Benfica will play on October 23 – Round 3 – in Amsterdam.

Bayern and AEK played on Saturday. The team from Munich went to Stuttgart to beat the home team by 0-3.

This was the second victory in two matches,which place the Bavarian on top of the table, ex-aequo with Wolfsburg, with six points.

AEK

AEK only knows the taste of victory too. Two matches, two victories, six points and the top of the table. In Round 2, the team from the Greek capital went to play against Asteras and won, by 0-1.

Bayern is the first to face Benfica in this edition of the Champions League, on September 19, Luz; comes next, in Athens, on October 2.
