The former-midfielder from the eagles visited the hotel that accommodated the team in Athens and saw Rui Costa again.
01 October 2018, 14h01
The former midfielder from the Reds will attend the AEK-Benfica match, a clash between two clubs he represented in his career.
"I will be able to see this match between two teams I represented. I spent four years at AEK and three years at Benfica. It is an important match. I am very happy to be able to watch Benfica. For me, it is difficult to say who will win. We will see tomorrow [Tuesday]", said Katsouranis.
"Benfica is always in my heart and in my mind. Moreover, the Club has Greek players: Mitroglou, who already left, Samaris... Lisbon is like my home", admitted the 39-year-old former player.
"I spoke with Rui Costa. We remembered the time we played together at Benfica and also when he was a director and I was still a player. They were three very important years in my career, with supporters who like me", remembered Katsouranis, who wore the Sacred Mantle in 122 matches and scored 15 goals.
The Greek assumes that he cheers for the eagles and believes in the reconquest in 2018/19. "Come on, Benfica! Go for the Championship", he said.
