More than a week after the break, Benfica returns to competition with the 3rd round of the Portuguese Cup.

At 8:45 pm on Tuesday (October 18), Rui Vitória's team starts the Portuguese Cup with a trip to Estádio Cidade de Coimbra to face Sertanense (8th place in the Campeonato de Portugal).
This tie is followed by the European competitions, with a trip to Amsterdam. The Reds will face the Dutch of Ajax on October 23 (Tuesday) in a game from matchday 3 of the Champions League group stage. Before the end of the month, the Eagles visit Belenenses on October 27 (Saturday), in round 8 of the Liga NOS.

In November, the return to Estádio da Luz. The leader Benfica hosts Moreirense on November 2 (Friday), in a match from gameweek 9 of the National Championship. In the following week, the Cathedral is once again a European stage. On November 7 (Wednesday), the Reds host Ajax in matchday 4 of the Champions League group stage. With no time to rest, the Eagles travel to Tondela's home ground on November 11 (Sunday) in matchday 10 of the Liga NOS.
The competitions will stop again and the return will take place through the Portuguese Cup (4th round). On November's agenda is also a trip to Munich to face Bayern on November 27 (Tuesday).

Until December 12, and after a busy schedule, Benfica will have to play four more matches: home matches against Feirense in matchday 11of the Liga NOS (December 11, Saturday) and against Paços de Ferreira in the League Cup (December 5, Wednesday), the visit to V. Setúbal in round 12 of the Championship(December 8, Saturday) and a new duel at home, against AEK, in matchday 6 of the Champions League group stage (December 12, Wednesday).
