With the first goal scored on Wednesday evening against Paços de Ferreira at Estádio da Luz, Benfica did not only move closer to the final four of the League Cup but also became the team with more goals scored at home in the competition (52), a fact highlighted by Playmaker Stats.

It was at 11’ that the team coached by Rui Vitória took the lead from Group A of the 2018/19 League Cup and the table of clubs with more goals in front of the fans in the competition. A play from Alfa Semedo on the right side, who made a cross and Seferovic appeared the goal area to open the scoring.

João Félix – one of the five athletes from Benfica's academy who featured in the starting XI – scored the 2-nil and increased to 53 the number of goals from the Reds at home for the competition.
