With a superb display in Benfica's 4-0 win over Portimonense on matchday 23 of the Liga Betclic, Rafa was voted Man of the Match by the fans. In front of 57,201 spectators at the Estádio da Luz, the eagles' No. 27 scored twice in the match: he opened the scoring in the 55th minute and closed the scoring in the 74th minute, after a pass from Kökcü. He has now scored 17 goals this season, 12 in the league... Rafa also provided the assist for Di María's 3-0 and had a pass accuracy of 80% (24/30).
