Eric Coleman is a new signing

Sport Lisboa e Benfica informs that it has reached a agreement with the 33-year-old center Eric Coleman to strengthen the men's Basketball senior squad.

Looking to regain the National Championship Title, Benfica is already preparing the next season. Eric Nathaniel Coleman, a 33-year-old American center, is the eagles' first signing for 2019/20.

In statements with BTV, he was pleased but surprised by the invitation from the Reds.

“I was surprised, I've played in smaller teams almost my entire career. It was also a feeling of appreciation for the work I've been developing, it was a very good feeling when I found out that Benfica wanted me to honor their colors”, he claimed.

After losing the title race to Oliveirense in the last two years, Coleman arrives to help Benfica return to the triumphs.

“I felt that Benfica was the right place for me. They have a great tradition in Portugal and I already know some of the players that are here. I'm here to help them get back on track and regain the Championship”, he said.
