Luís Filipe Vieira: “We've prepared the season with all the competitions in mind”

At the end of the Super Cup 2019 against Sporting which Benfica won by 5-0, Luís Filipe Vieira went down to the pitch to congratulate the players and analyzed the exhibition, in statements to RTP.

“Benfica scored in the right moments. The game was completely clean and we were the fair winners. What should be noted is that there were two great teams on the pitch and the result does not reflect the difference between the teams. Sometimes that's football. Sporting will still be a title contender”, he claimed.

The President of the Reds reaffirmed the bet on the talent that is emerging at Caixa Futebol Campus and even listed some names that can be launched in 2019/20.

“One of the things that people will have to understand is that we do not deviate from our strategy. We've always said that Seixal is our priority and our coach has already shown it with Nuno Tavares, David Tavares and maybe Tomás Tavares will come. We played with four academy graduates [Rúben, Nuno Tavares, Ferro and Florentino] and Jota also came on. The season we've prepared is with all the competitions in mind, tackling all the opponents head-on and dreaming with the victory. The next one is Paços de Ferreira”, he stressed.
