It is another demanding cycle, with matches of the several competitions coming thick and fast. Wednesday, at Estádio da Luz, as of 7:00 pm, SL Benfica open another competitive window, with the start of the League Cup.

After winning the Super Cup, playing six rounds in the Liga NOS, kicking off the group stage of the Champions League, now comes the League Cup. It is on Wednesday, September 25, that the National Champions and this trophy record holder, make their debut in the current edition.

Festejos

Vitória de Guimarães, Vitória de Setúbal and SC Covilhã are the opponents that the eagles will face in Group B in the stage of the competition, where the teams will fight for the qualification for the final four, dictated the draw held on September 3, in the Auditorium of the Parque dos Poetas, in Oeiras.

On matchday 1Benfica host Vitória de Guimarães, a team led by Ivo Vieira and that currently sits 6th in the Liga NOS. The match is scheduled for Wednesday, at the Cathedral (7:00 pm) and the tickets are on sale.

In round 2, the eagles travel to Serra da Estrela to face SC Covilhã and in the last round (3), scheduled for December 21 or 22, the reds travel to Bonfim to lock horns with Vitória de Setúbal.

After this phase, the winners of the respective groups will qualify for the final four of the League Cup, to be held in January in Braga.

If Benfica qualify for the final four, they will face in one of the semifinals, on January 22, 2020, the first place of Group D (FC Porto, Santa Clara, Chaves or Casa Pia), at the Estádio Municipal de Braga.

The final of the League Cup is scheduled January 25, 2020.
