The Benfica's opponents in Group G of the Champions League "totaled", together, five points on Saturday (October 19). Leipzig and Lyon, the rival to face next Wednesday (October 23), drew, while Zenit managed to get a rout win.

At Leipzig (4x4x2) played the following players: Gulácsi, Klostermann, Upamecano, Orban, Saracchi, Laimer (75', Kampl), Demme, Sabitzer, Nkunku (70', Forsberg), Poulsen and Werner (86', Cunha).

The German team counts with four wins, three draws and a defeat in the League. With fifteen points, it is 4th in Bundesliga.

With this result, the French remain 14th on the table, with two wins, four draws and four losses.

At Zenit (4x4x2) were fielded the following players: Kherzhakov, Ivanovic, Karavaev, Rakitsky, Barrios, Ozdoev (78', Sutormin), Driussi (85', Erokhin), Shatov (71', Kuzyayev) Azmoun and Dzyuba.

The team led by Sergei Semak is 2nd in the League (with the same points as CSKA Moscow), with nine wins, two draws and two defeats.

An unforgettable Children's Day

This Tuesday, May 27, the Benfica Foundation and Sport Lisboa e Benfica marked World Children's Day with the participation of more than 1,500 young people.  Between the Estádio da Luz pitch and the pavilions, there were fun, educational and sporting activities, with the contribution of the various sports and the partners of the Club and the Foundation. Lively, with everything designed to stimulate the children and provide them with different experiences, this was a “very special” moment, as Jorge Miranda, director of the Foundation, told BTV. "We couldn't miss the opportunity to have an unforgettable day," he said. Representing the Almeirim Karting Circuit, Tiago Evaristo stressed the importance of “road education”. Benfica-Sporting: extended match highlights

In a match in which they had a penalty and a goal in their favor (it would have been 2-0...) reversed by the VAR, and also saw the post deny them a goal (Pavlidis' shot) and were hindered by the refereeing in relevant plays, Benfica conceded the equalizer (1-1) in the 11th minute (!) of stoppage time (90'+11'). Then, in extra time, they lost (1-3) the Portuguese Cup final against Sporting on Sunday afternoon, May 25, at the Estádio Nacional in Jamor.

Having celebrated their fourth national championship, Benfica met Madeira SAD on Sunday, May 25, in the final of the Portuguese Cup. With a 27-19, the Eagles won the 9th trophy of the women's handball Portuguese Cup in the Club's history. Sunday, May 25, saw the 2025 Portuguese Cup final between Benfica and Sporting. At the Estadio Nacional, with a spectacular crowd in attendance, the Eagles had to go to extra time (1-3) after Kökcü (47') and Gyokëres (90'+11' pk) had drawn the derby in regulation time (1-1).

On Tuesday afternoon, May 20, Benfica's professional football team trained at the Estádio Nacional, the venue for the Portuguese Cup final. In preparation for the clash, concentration and intensity were visible in the first 15 minutes of the training session, which was open to the media and whose best images you can see here.
