In a squad list with twenty players, seven come from Benfica Campus! The eagles will be options for José Lima, the U-15 national team coach, for the UEFA Development Tournament, which will take place in Algarve between November 19 and 26.

The Benfica athletes that will be present in this competition are: Alfa Baldé, Francisco Pereira, Henrique Sá, João Conceição, João Costa, Ussumane Djaló and Vasco Teixeira.

The Portuguese national team will play against Italy (November 22, at 4 pm), Finland (November 24, at 4 pm) and Spain (November 26, at 11 am).

Preparation for the clash against Qarabag

On Monday, September 15, Benfica professional football team prepared for the match against Qarabag, corresponding to Matchday 1 of the Champions League (league phase), to be played on Tuesday, September 16, at 8 pm, at Estádio da Luz. Due to injuries, players Bah, Manu, Bruma, Nuno Félix, Lukebakio, and Dedic did not participate in the training session at Benfica Campus. See the images here.

More Eriksson at the Club's museum

A group of 16 members of Sport Lisboa e Benfica donated the Cosme Damião Award to the Club – a tribute to the legendary Sven-Göran Eriksson  (who passed away on August 26, 2024). As coach of the Eagles, he successfully led the professional football team for five seasons (1982/83 and 1983/84, and 1989/90 to 1991/92). The honorable distinction was among the various belongings of the former coach that were auctioned in the early months of the year. João Pais, one of the SLB members, visited the Reserve, Conservation, and Restoration department, told the story, and delivered the award, a unique item that is now part of a set of 38,000 pieces in the collection.

First stage completed: goals achieved

In exactly one month – between July 31, the official start of the season in the Algarve, and August 31, the match against Alverca for the Championship – Benfica successfully completed the three goals set for the initial phase of the season: winning the Super Cup, qualifying for the Champions League (league phase), and winning all Liga Betclic matches. In total, 7 wins and 1 draw with 12 goals scored and 1 conceded.

Collective commitment with the Super Cup on the horizon

Benfica women's football team is preparing hard for the Super Cup, which will be played at the Estádio António Coimbra da Mota in Estoril on Sunday, at 5:15 pm, against Torreense (tickets here). This Thursday, September 4, at Benfica Campus, the players once again showed their commitment on the pitch, under the guidance of coach Ivan Baptista.

The Sport Lisboa e Benfica professional football team continued working on Wednesday, September 3, at Benfica Campus, with a gym training session. During this FIFA international break, the Eagles sent 18 players to their respective national teams.
