Bruno Lage: "Determined to make a final stretch that meets our competence"

Here they are! "We are back! We've been waiting a long time for what happens today", expresses Bruno Lage in this Monday's News Benfica.

Bruno Lage shares the satisfaction for "returning to Seixal, returning to the pitch, preparing what remains of the 2019/20 season", but he is also very conscious, because "unfortunately, and for the worst reasons, the situation is still far from ideal".

"It is a special moment and therefore requires everything else to be equally special: focus, commitment and commitment. This is what we all have in mind at Benfica Campus. This morning, when we came back home, we know there's less one day to go before the next game. We went into the countdown, knowing as always that every training session count. Even the ones we're going to have to do, for a while, with the players working individually", stresses Bruno Lage.

"As I've already had the opportunity to tell all the Players and all the Staff of Sport Lisboa e Benfica, it's a huge honor and pride to be the coach of this great club at such a particular moment in our lives", he claims.

"The work plans are ready and it's time to start executing them. We are determined to make a final stretch that meets our competence, corresponding in the best way to what a Club of this dimension deserves", he claimed, giving the motto: "We will run a lot! We will do it for all the fans and for those who have always done everything so that nothing is lacking to this working group."

Finally, and because gratitude is something intrinsic to Champions, Bruno Lage highlights  "the prominent social position that, in recent weeks, Benfica's Professional Football has displayed", a capacity that he deems "exemplary".
