After being signed in the Winter transfer market, Julian Weigl scored, with a header, the decisive goal that which consummated Benfica's victory away at Rio Ave, by 1-2, in a game from matchday 27 of the Liga NOS, in the evening of June 17.

In the 14th match with an eagle on his chest, his first goal! And it wasn't just any goal, it was a very meaningful strike from the Man of the Match (the "Mann des Spiels", in German). First of all because it allowed the eagles to win on matchday 27 of the Portuguese league; then because it was his first goal for Benfica, the first headed goal of his career and Julian's first goal inside the box.
