Competitive and with a very skillful left foot, Arthur, the Brazilian international, is a new signing of the futsal of Sport Lisboa e Benfica for the 2020/21 season.

"I'm very happy and motivated to arrive at Benfica. I know the greatness of this club. I've always wanted to wear the Benfica jersey and today I'm able to make that dream come true", revealed the winger. "I'm a competitive player, I like to win and I hope I can always be at the coach's disposal to help in any way I can", he claimed, in exclusive statements with BTV.

Arthur has had spells at some of the best clubs in futsal history. Before joining Barcelona and playing in the Spanish league, one of the most competitive leagues in the world, the winger represented three Brazilian clubs. Praia Clube (2011 to 2013), Corinthians (2014 to 2016), and Magnus Futsal (2017 to 2018).

European Under-17 champions are back in Portugal

They are players from Benfica's Youth Training, European Under-17 champions, and are already in Portugal. Daniel Banjaqui, Ricardo Neto, Mauro Furtado, José Neto, Rafael Quintas, Stevan Manuel, Gil Neves, Tomás Soares, and Anísio Cabral, members of the national team that won the European Under-17 Championship for Portugal, arrived in Lisbon on Tuesday, June 3. Speaking to BTV, the Portuguese captain and best player of the competition, Benfica's Rafael Quintas, spoke of his “pride” in bringing the trophy to Portugal and revealed that he has received “many messages” from Benfica fans. The top Portuguese scorer in the competition, with three goals, Tomás Soares said that “everyone performed at the highest level”. Ricardo Neto spoke of the “enormous responsibility” of representing Portugal. Under-23: images from the victory of the 1st Revelação Cup

Coming from a 2-0 victory in the first leg, Benfica U-23s won 2-4 at Torreense on Saturday, May 31, clinching the Revelação Cup, their first title in the competition. Tomás Cruz, Rodrigo Rêgo, who scored twice, and Jelani Trevisan scored the goals for the team led by Vítor Vinha. See here the best images of the red celebration.

Telma Monteiro's donation to the Benfica Museum – Cosme Damião

An icon of Benfica and Portuguese judo, Telma Monteiro donated the kimono she wore in her last competition for the club, specifically the National Club Championship in October 2024, which earned her the women's title, to the Benfica Museum – Cosme Damião. The judoka also donated the belt she wore during her last Olympic cycle. “It's the place where it makes the most sense to stay, leaving a little of my legacy, preserving my history with Benfica,” said Telma Monteiro.

An unforgettable Children's Day

This Tuesday, May 27, the Benfica Foundation and Sport Lisboa e Benfica marked World Children's Day with the participation of more than 1,500 young people.  Between the Estádio da Luz pitch and the pavilions, there were fun, educational and sporting activities, with the contribution of the various sports and the partners of the Club and the Foundation. Lively, with everything designed to stimulate the children and provide them with different experiences, this was a “very special” moment, as Jorge Miranda, director of the Foundation, told BTV. "We couldn't miss the opportunity to have an unforgettable day," he said. Representing the Almeirim Karting Circuit, Tiago Evaristo stressed the importance of “road education”. Benfica-Sporting: extended match highlights

In a match in which they had a penalty and a goal in their favor (it would have been 2-0...) reversed by the VAR, and also saw the post deny them a goal (Pavlidis' shot) and were hindered by the refereeing in relevant plays, Benfica conceded the equalizer (1-1) in the 11th minute (!) of stoppage time (90'+11'). Then, in extra time, they lost (1-3) the Portuguese Cup final against Sporting on Sunday afternoon, May 25, at the Estádio Nacional in Jamor.
