A global study from the Football Talent Scout platform highlights the Benfica Campus, the heart of the club’s football, as the best academy of the last decade!

A few months away to turn 14 years old – was inaugurated on September 22, 2006 –, Benfica Campus is still a topic of conversation.

This evaluation was based on the quantity and quality of the footballers trained and raised at the clubs within the analysis period. The selection covers the players born in or after 1990, arrived at the club before the age of 17, who represented it during three seasons before turning 20 and completed their debut in professional football.

Football Talent Scout

The goal was clear since the beginning: to find, train, develop and project talent. In December 2019, Benfica was also awarded with the prize of “Best Academy of the Year” in the 11th Globe Soccer Awards Event, in Dubai.

The 12th edition of the Elite Training Camps, which took place over the past four weeks, had a total of 268 participants, and the project developed at the Benfica Campus included, for the third time, a week especially dedicated to women's football. With 219 male and 49 female participants, the program with a focus on elite training gave the participants the opportunity to live the experience and methodologies practiced by Sport Lisboa e Benfica's Youth Football.
