Welcome, Darwin!

Darwin is the new signing of Sport Lisboa e Benfica until 2025, and was introduced at Benfica Campus this Friday. The player will use No 9 jersey and has a 150 million release clause. 

What are your first impressions of Benfica and how do you feel after the first hours as a red player?

I’m feeling very well. I’m so happy for this moment. Can’t wait to put the Benfica shirt on and start training with my teammates.

What is the pressure that a 21-year-old player feels when arriving at such a big club as Benfica, being also the most expensive transfer in the Portuguese football?

It’s a matter of pride for me. I’m working every day for my future and I’ve been doing things well, always with humility, with my feet on the ground. It’s not pressure, it’s responsibility and I want to do it the best way possible.
