The UEFA Executive Committee informed this Wednesday, September 16, that it has decided to amend the format of the Women's Champions League, in which Benfica will be the representative of Portugal, due to the current COVID-19 situation across Europe.

The main change is the previous qualifying round mini-tournaments will be replaced by two single-legged knockout rounds. Benfica begins its journey in the First Qualifying Round.

  • Draw of the First Qualifying Round (40 teams): October 22, Nyon

  • First Qualifying Round: November 3/4 (a single match)

  • Draw of the Second Qualifying Round (20 teams): November 6, Nyon

  • Second Qualifying Round: November 18/19 (a single match)

  • Draw of the Round of 32: November 24, Nyon

  • Round of 32: December 8/9 and 15/16, 2020 (two legs)

  • Draw of the Round of 16, quarter-finals and semi-finals: date to be confirmed (Nyon)

  • Round of 16: March 3/4 and March 10/11, 2021 (two legs)

  • Quarter-finals: March 23/24 and March /April 1, 2021 (two legs)

  • Semi-finals: April 24/25 and May 1/2, 2021 (two legs)

  • Final: May 16, 2021 (Gamla Ullevi, Gothenburg
