What response do you expect Benfica to give regarding the last game [against Santa Clara]? Do you feel that the team can give a good response, looking at the good displays that the team has had this season?
The response is always the same: to win. Tondela has already shown quality in other stadiums, as at our rival home ground [FC Porto], where they scored three goals. It is an opponent that we must look at with respect, but we want to get back to winning ways. In the last five matches, we won four and we drew against Santa Clara. What will happen in the match? What normally happens when Benfica plays at home and away: a team with a defensive approach and trying to score on the counter-attack or through set-pieces, and Benfica must be better than the opponent at all moments of the game, impose itself and win.
The teams that are in several competitions will face a complicated month of January, with many games. How do you feel the team in physical and mental terms?
The calendar is there for everyone to see and we cannot ignore it. We have to be prepared for it. This is a month with many games. It’s good, it is a sign that we are in all competition and we have several goals to achieve. [Many games] are factors that do not bother us.
