Julien Weigl: "We deserved to win"

One point for each team! SL Benfica and FC Porto drew (1-1) in the clássico from matchday 14 of the Liga NOS.

At the end of the match, Weigl, elected the man of the match, was questioned about the fairness of the result.

"We gave a lot in the match and deserved to win, but we conceded a goal in the first half that we shouldn’t have conceded. But the attitude we demonstrated today is the one we always must demonstrate, we fought for each ball, we were better, and we deserved to win. In the end, it's a draw, but we have many positive points to take from this game", he started by saying in the flash interview.

Analyzing the clássico... 

"It was a very difficult game, hard-fought, with many fouls, the two teams showed that they wanted to win and left everything on the pitch. A clássico is like this, it is always difficult. We wanted to win, unfortunately, we lost", he explained.

And how does it feel to be elected the man of the match?

" It feels good, but I would rather have won, it's more important. I want to continue helping the team. We want to fight for 1st place", revealed the number 28 of the team under Jorge Jesus.

" We had a great opportunity, in case of victory, to get closer, but it will be a very intense fight this season. All the games are important, and we have to think about the next one to win and get closer to 1st place", added Julien Weigl.
