The Benfica coach previewed the clash with Moreirense from matchday 19 of the Liga NOS.
13 February 2021, 15h40
I ask you to do an analysis of this Moreirense team, that in the last five games has only one defeat…
It’s true! Moreirense, in the last five matches, had positive results, the only lost one match. Every match in Moreira de Cónegos is difficult and we will have a tough game. We feel that we are improving, the team has a different physical capacity, is more competitive, and has a different intensity in training that will be shown in the matches. I believe that we will have a Benfica within the idea of what was seen in the match against Estoril: a much more aggressive team, with more speed in the offensive and defensive tasks.
Moreirense is coached by a manager [Vasco Seabra] that beat Benfica by 3-0 when Benfica was on a strong streak in the Championship. Does this bring an extra concern in preparation for this match?
It’s true. Our first defeat was at Estádio do Bessa against a different opponent [Boavista], the coach is the same, but everything is different, the players are different.
Moreirense is a team that played with three center backs in the last matches. Do you think that they will maintain this formation tomorrow [Sunday]? Will this force changes in the formation that Benfica might use?
The fact that Moreirense has a formation in these last few matches has been given the coach good signs and points, and the fact that his team believes that they are on the right track is not the number one problem for Benfica. Benfica plays according to its formation.
