Jorge Jesus: "To go after the first spots"

In the press conference before the game from Matchday 25 of the Liga NOS, the coach Jorge Jesus previewed the clash against Marítimo, next Monday, at 7 pm, at Estádio da Luz. 

Marítimo already eliminated Sporting from the Portuguese Cup, beat FC Porto, and made it very difficult for Benfica in the first championship round. What do you expect for them and it will be difficult given all these ingredients?

For these teams, when they play against the big fish – Benfica, Sporting, FC Porto, SC Braga… –, any point is important, and they are emotionally calm. Marítimo will try to get points, will play with 5x4x1 formation, with the great majority of the players behind the ball line. We’re ready for that. Every game is a different story, but we’re ready for an opponent that will explore free-kicks, corners and the counter-attack. 

Considering that the direct qualification for the Champions League Group Stage might interfere with the squad organization, how are you preparing next season?

In this moment I’m only concerned with the current season. There are still things to achieve. We’re in a clutch situation in the Championship. We got to go after the first spots.
