The goal from Luca Waldschmidt gave the win to Benfica against Marítimo (1-0), in Matchday 25 of the Liga NOS. The German was elected "Man of the Match" and talked about a tough game.

"It was a really tough game. Both teams had chances to score. We scored, but they also could have scored. At the end, what’s important is that we won and took the three points", highlighted Waldschmidt.

Despite getting the award, the forward preferred to highlight the team.

"It’s not that important who wins this award ['Man of the Match']. The collective is the most important, to grow together, to get the three points every match, and improve game after game", declared Waldschmidt, who reached the milestone of 10 official goals in a season, a new high in his career.
