Pedro Pichardo, the Portuguese Benfica athlete, achieved the best world mark of the year in the triple jump, with a valid jump of 17,69 meters, during the Madrid athletics meeting, on Saturday, June 19.

Despite the excellent mark obtained, the victory in the event did not go to Pedro Pichardo, but to Hughes Fabrice Zango, from Burkina Faso, who reached 17.83 meters.

In third and fourth place finished the French Melvin Raffin and Jean Marc Ponvianne, both with 17,17 m.
