In the scope of the partnership between Sport Lisboa e Benfica and Israeli Academy of Football Excellence (AFEX), the first Benfica Football Camp in Israel took place between July 25 and 29.

The activities took place in Tel Aviv, at the Hadar Yosef sports complex, also known for being the national sports center, home to the Israel Olympic Committee and several Israeli sports federations. It was in these excellent facilities that more than 125 participants, including athletes from some of the country's leading clubs, had the opportunity to train under the guidance of Sport Lisboa e Benfica coaches, Pedro Fernandes, Ricardo Monsanto and Tiago Marques.

This was a week in which participants and local coaches had the opportunity to live the unique experience of being part of a project that is a world reference in the development of young football players.

Preparation on stage for the final

On Tuesday afternoon, May 20, Benfica's professional football team trained at the Estádio Nacional, the venue for the Portuguese Cup final. Ruy Castelo Branco, director of the Benfica Residential Academy, and Adriano Laaber, coach of the Benfica Residential Academy women's team, visited the Benfica Campus on Tuesday, May 20, where they had the opportunity to follow the daily activities. "The main objective of the academy is to develop the athlete with the Benfica methodology and combine the academic part with the athletic part," Ruy Castelo Branco told BTV. “Feeling and experiencing this on a daily basis, especially the energy of the Benfica Campus, is enriching,” he said, noting that the goal is to continue cementing the Club's values in the United States.
