The Under-17 Portuguese national coach announced the squad list for the Syrenka Cup tournament, in which eight athletes from SL Benfica are included, making the eagles the most represented club in the squad.

João Conceição, João Veloso, Ivan Lima, Ussumane Djaló, Rafael Luís, Alfa Baldé, João Rego and Francisco Machado will be present in the competition that will take place in Poland. 

The Benfica goalkeeper Marcel Mendes will also compete in the competition, representing Poland.

Day 1 of a new journey

The 2025/26 preseason officially kicked off on Monday, July 14, with medical checks and physical tests between Hospital da Luz and Benfica Campus. In an atmosphere of reunions, renewed energy, and focus on what comes next, 28 players are present on this first day of work of Sport Lisboa e Benfica. Preparation will intensify on Tuesday, July 15, with the first pre-season training session scheduled for the morning, followed by another session in the afternoon at Benfica Campus.
