PRESENTATION

Jelani Trevisan, a 16-year-old forward (22/03/2005), was signed by Sport Lisboa e Benfica and penned a professional contract.

Born in Belgium, Jelani Trevisan played at KAA Gent, after a spell at Standard Liège.

"It is a dream come true, because I wanted to play in another country. Playing for Benfica is a dream, because it is one of the top clubs for young players", revealed the young forward, who likes to "score goals"".

Jelani (U-17 player) currently represents the Belgian youth national teams.

Benfica fought until the end for a different outcome in the last 16 of the Club World Cup, but after extra time they fell to Chelsea (1-4), thus ending their journey in the first edition of the competition in the United States of America. In a game that was interrupted in the 86th minute due to the threat of a thunderstorm and ended almost five hours after the kick-off, Di María leveled the score at 90'+5' (1-1), taking the match into 30 minutes of extra time, during which time the result hung in the balance for the English at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte.
