SLB presents Garrafeira Benfica

Sport Lisboa e Benfica launched, this week, the Garrafeira Benfica (Wine Shop). The project is the result of a partnership between the club and vinha.pt and will bring together a selection of the best national and international wines, duly customized with the image of the clube da Luz.

Present at the launch, which took place this Thursday, at the Benfica Official Store at Estádio da Luz, were members of the Club's governing bodies, former players, several well-known faces of the Benfiquista Family, with President Rui Costa leading the red delegation. 

Garrafeira Benfica is starting with a selection of national reference wines, but it is planned in the short term to widen the scope to wines from the most important wine regions in the world. At this stage 22 wines are available, all with customized labels featuring images that are part of the club's life. Developed with national producers, highlighting Authentic Wines (Lisbon), Quinta de Santiago (Minho), Herdade do Rocim (Alentejo), Caves Messias (Bairrada), Cascas Wines (Beira Interior), Breijinho da Costa (Setúbal) and Quinta dos Avidagos (Douro).

Miguel Bento, Benfica's Commercial and Marketing Director, said that "the Club deepens its connection to the world of wines by making available to its Members and fans a portfolio of exclusive, high-quality wines. The project relies on the participation of renowned national producers and, just like Benfica, the Wine Shop is present in all regions of the country, expanding in the future to other international regions".

"It was a project thought out by both parties. The vinha.pt curates several wines in Portugal to include them in the Garrafeira Benfica, to make available the best Portuguese wines. These are tailor-made batches for Garrafeira Benfica and will not be for sale elsewhere", claims Cláudio Martins, one of those responsible for vinha.pt.

The Garrafeira Benfica is available online at slbenfica.pt/loja/garrafeira and at the Club's Official Stores – Stadium, Colombo, Baixa (Jardim do Regedor), Strada and MAR Shopping. The Benfica branded wines will also be on sale at https://www.vinha.pt/.
