At the end of the 90 minutes of the Benfica-Boavista match in the semi-finals of the League Cup, the encounter was tied 1-1. As a result of a solid display and direct influence in the eagles' win (3-2) in the penalty shootout, Odysseas, who made his 150th appearance with the Sacred Mantle, was named the "Man of the Match".

"It was a typical League Cup match. A difficult game, with ups and downs, in a difficult ground, but we accomplished our goal going to the final and we are happy for that", claimed Odysseas, in statements to Sport TV.

The Greek international approached Boavista's goal that equalized the match (from a penalty kick, at 53')...

"I would be more happy if I had kept a clean sheet, but I am happy when the team wins. We win together, we lose together, and I try to do my best to help the team, as I did today", stressed the eagles' number 99.
