Sport Lisboa e Benfica and Futebol Clube Paços de Ferreira have reached an agreement for the permanent transfer of the athlete Pedro Ganchas.

At the age of 21, the center-back is preparing for a new challenge in his sports career, after nine seasons with SL Benfica.

This season, he has 11 matches and one goal in the Liga Portugal SABSEG. In total, he registered 32 games and four goals in the Portuguese second tier and was one of the captains of SL Benfica's B Team in the last two seasons.

As he embraces an important challenge in his sporting career, SL Benfica wishes Pedro Ganchas sporting success and personal happiness!

Benfica-Tirsense: extended match highlights (4-0)

In front of almost 50,000 spectators at the Estádio da Luz, Benfica confirmed their qualification for the 2024/2025 Portuguese Cup final on Wednesday night, April 23, by beating Tirsense 4-0 in the second leg of the semi-final (goals from António Silva, Bajrami, Belotti and Barreiro). In the first game, the Eagles had won 0-5. Thus, with a 9-0 aggregate in the semi-final, the Glorioso reached the decisive match of the Portuguese Cup for the 39th time. On their way to Jamor, the Reds overcame Pevidém (0-2), Estrela da Amadora (7-0), Farense (1-3), SC Braga (1-0) and, finally, Tirsense in a two-legged tie.

A moving tribute to Humberto Coelho

Having celebrated his 75th birthday on Sunday, April 20, Humberto Coelho received a heartfelt and well-deserved tribute on Wednesday, April 23, at the Estádio da Luz, during half-time of the Benfica-Tirsense (4-0) second leg of the Portuguese Cup semi-finals. Captain for many years, he wore the Manto Sagrado for “14 fantastic seasons” and, on the pitch, he gave a special thanks to the fans. "This is more than soul, it's an extraordinary mystique! Only at Benfica can you feel this recognition and this glory and memory of having played for the best club in the world," said the former central defender.
