Between February 4 and 6, the Benfica Soccer School in Washington DC was present with its U-17 team at the Showcase Florida 2022, organized annually by the prestigious USYS – US Youth Soccer National Championships.

The event, one of the most prestigious and well-attended in the country, counted in this edition with the presence of nearly 300 teams from all the states.

Sport Lisboa e Benfica's coordinator, Paulo Filipe, explains that "this is a great opportunity to face the best teams at the national level and also an excellent occasion to demonstrate and divulge, through the game, the SL Benfica methodology, the work that has been developed in the Benfica Soccer School in Washington DC".

Ruy Castelo Branco, director of the Benfica Residential Academy, and Adriano Laaber, coach of the Benfica Residential Academy women's team, visited the Benfica Campus on Tuesday, May 20, where they had the opportunity to follow the daily activities. "The main objective of the academy is to develop the athlete with the Benfica methodology and combine the academic part with the athletic part," Ruy Castelo Branco told BTV. “Feeling and experiencing this on a daily basis, especially the energy of the Benfica Campus, is enriching,” he said, noting that the goal is to continue cementing the Club's values in the United States.
