Wendell Lewis, a 32-year-old American center, is a signing for the basketball team of Sport Lisboa e Benfica. The new #30 jersey represented the Bulgarians of Chernomorets in the last two seasons. 

"I come to help the team win and enjoy this opportunity. I am very excited to be here and to be part of the Benfica family. I can't wait to get on the court, to play and give everything I have for this jersey, I want to help Benfica win the Championship and also the Portuguese Cup", he claimed, in statements to BTV.

Wendell Lewis was equally pleased with the first impressions of the Club he now embraces after having represented teams such as Mississippi State Bulldogs (United States), Alabama State Hornets (United States), Vera (Georgia) and most recently Chernomorets (Bulgaria). "My first impressions are very good, I have already had a chance to see the energy of my teammates and the coach, everything seemed very good", he stressed.
