Sport Lisboa e Benfica informs that it has been preparing, through its Foundation, an integrated campaign of humanitarian support for the Ukrainian people.

This campaign, which foresees a broad national mobilization, will have different components and a timetable to act in emergency humanitarian assistance, but also through collaboration in the welcoming of refugees.

Starting tomorrow, March 2, we will detail the different ways in which the Portuguese can join in helping the Ukrainian people in articulation with the Benfica Foundation. We are counting on everyone!

"Inspiradoras" cheer up youngsters at the IPO

In a initiative from the Benfica Foundation, Jéssica Silva, Valéria Cantuário and Daniela Silva, athletes from the Club's women's football team, met with children who are hospitalized or undergoing treatment at IPO Lisboa. On a visit to the pediatrics department and the institute's Lions pavilion, they handed out scarves, autographs and photographs on Monday, September 25. "I hope it serves to show our children that it's important to stay active with joy and to show examples of overcoming obstacles", praised Ana Lacerda, director of IPO's pediatrics service. "For us, the feeling is very special, because we know we can make their day happier", confessed Jéssica Silva to BTV.

Benfica Foundation fulfilled its solidary mission!

Answering the appeal of the Turkish Embassy in Portugal, after the devastating earthquakes that affected the country and Syria, the Benfica Foudation delivered 1000 thermal blankets on the spot, a gesture welcomed by ambassador Lale Ülker. Carlos Moia, Executive President of the Benfica Foundation, stressed the need for the Benfica Foundation to make its presence felt. "We live in difficult times, we cannot remain indifferent to what happens. Humbly, we help and will continue to help", he claimed to BTV. Lale Ülker was grateful for the gesture. "We thank Benfica, a Club that needs no introduction in our country, where there are many supporters", she said.

We stand with Ukraine: delivery of generators

Sport Lisboa e Benfica, through its Foundation and in partnership with Shakhtar Donetsk, keeps the humanitarian support to Ukraine and, this time, offered and sent 30 generators which will help to mitigate the difficulties related to energy supply. In a first stage, the delivery will take place at Legia Warsaw club, one of the members of EFDN – European Football for Development Network, to which Benfica belongs; after that, it will be sent to Lviv, to be managed and distributed by Shakhtar Donetsk to different Ukrainian cities. "We are always listening to more situations where our contribution might make a positive impact on the cause and improve the Ukrainian people conditions. This is what keeps us going", declared Nuno Costa, representant of the Benfica Foundation, to BTV.
