"We had a chance to equalize": the players' reaction

Benfica's home match against Liverpool, in the first leg of the Champions League quarterfinals, played on Tuesday, April 5, at Estádio da Luz, ended in victory for the English team by 1-3.

Darwin: "We were better in the second half and there was an unsanctioned penalty"

"Of course I am sad. Not only me, but we all are also, because we didn't want this result. They were better in the first half, we were in the second. Then, in the second half, there is that play [at 67', with the score at 1-2] where they put their arm in front of me and I fall... In my opinion, it's a penalty kick, it was not awarded, but it's part of the referee's job to see it, or not, and there's also VAR. I don't blame the refereeing team for the result because we also made mistakes.
