In one of the theoretically most tricky away matches, Benfica's women's football team went to Madeira on Mother's Day to thrash Marítimo by 1-6 in a game from matchday 11 of the Liga BPI championship round. The eagles are three "finals" away from successfully defending the national title.

With 33 points, Benfica tops the league table, after 11 wins in 11 matches. Next up is the derby against Sporting, on Sunday, May 8, at Estádio da Luz  (6:00 pm)
