Eagles awarded with a wild card to participate in the Super Globe
Benfica won the EHF European League; while Kielce, also invited, were finalists of the Champions Final Four.

Handball Team of Benfica
The executive committee of the Handball International Federation distributed two wild cards for participation in the Super Globe. Benfica and Kielce were the clubs awarded.
The tournament, which will count with 12 clubs, will have, in addition to Benfica and Kielce, two clubs from Saudi Arabia (country which will host the event), the current Super Globe winner, the EHF Champions League winner, the winner of the qualification tournament of Arab Federation of Handball and a club representing each one of the following regions: Asia, Africa, North America and Caribbean, Central and South America and Oceania.
