Florentino Luís: "It's been a good homecoming"

Florentino Luís is back at Benfica and cannot hide his satisfaction for returning home. The midfielder spoke to the media on Tuesday and revealed that the experience abroad made him grow.

In the last two seasons, the midfielder was loaned out to foreign clubs. Monaco, in 2020/21, and Getafe, in 2021/22, were two stages that brought added value to the Benfica player. " These experiences in France and Spain made me grow. They are different championships; the adversities are different and as players, we have different growth. I will try to use the experience I gained abroad to help the team", he admitted.

"It's been a good homecoming. It's always good to be at Sport Lisboa e Benfica. I have enjoyed every training session. We have been able to evolve. We have taken the ideas of the coach well and this is the path we want to follow ", claimed Florentino.

The training match against Reading showed that the group is assimilating Roger Schmidt's ideas. "It was a match well played by the whole team. We won and we won well. I think these are positive signs. We are getting the ideas well. Our path from now on is to assimilate more ideas and apply them", he acknowledged.

"We have players who speak other languages. Fortunately most of them speak English. Their adaptation has been easy. The players who have been here longer have welcomed us well. They are well integrated and happy to be at Benfica", he said.
