João Mário: "The balance is very positive"

João Mário, who took the corner kick that originated the second goal in Benfica's victory (1-5) against Fulham, at Estádio Algarve, João Mário was the voice of the team after winning the Algarve 2022 Trophy. 

"The balance is very positive. We were all together for a few days in the training camp, it went very well, we are happy and on the right track for what is the first major goal of this season, the Champions League matches. We are trying to implement new ideas, it is normal that not everything is perfect right now, but we are trying to arrive as prepared as possible to that match", claimed João Mário, referring to the Champions League 3rd qualifying round, whose draw is tomorrow.

Increasingly adapted to the model of the new coach, the red midfielder stressed that "the ideas are being well assimilated". "They are new ideas, pre-season time, we are improving our fitness, which is the most important thing. I feel good", he said.

João Mário thanked the fans for the atmosphere at Estádio Algarve.
