Fantastic atmosphere in a late afternoon full of Mystique. The Benfiquistas attended in large numbers to honor King Eusébio and to watch for the first time, at the Luz Stadium, the 2022/23 edition of Benfica.

Odysseas, Gilberto, Otamendi, Morato, Grimaldo, Florentino, Enzo, João Mário, Rafa and Gonçalo Ramos, were the eleven players chosen by Roger Schmidt to start the match against the English side.

At the end of the match, captain Otamendi lifted the trophy. Benfica won the Eusébio Cup for the 4th time in eleven editions and ended the pre-season with a flourish.

Benfica now focuses its attention on the first official match of the season. Next Tuesday, the team will host the Danish team from Midtjylland, at 8 pm, in the first leg of the 3rd qualifying round of the Champions League.
