Overcoming Midtjylland in the 3rd qualifying round of the Champions League, SL Benfica will face the winner of Dynamo Kyiv-Sturm Graz in the play-off, as determined by the draw held this Tuesday, August 2, in Nyon.

It was also decided that, after reaching the last qualifying round for the Champions League, the eagles will start the play-off round at the opponent's home ground, on August 16 or 17. The second leg will take place at Estádio da Luz on August 23 or 24.

Benfica kicks off the 3rd qualifying round of the Champions League this Tuesday, August 2, at 8 pm (1st leg), at Estádio da Luz, against Midtjylland. The 2nd leg will place on August 9, at 6:45 pm Portuguese time, in Denmark.

In front of almost 50,000 spectators at the Estádio da Luz, Benfica confirmed their qualification for the 2024/2025 Portuguese Cup final on Wednesday night, April 23, by beating Tirsense 4-0 in the second leg of the semi-final (goals from António Silva, Bajrami, Belotti and Barreiro). A moving tribute to Humberto Coelho

Having celebrated his 75th birthday on Sunday, April 20, Humberto Coelho received a heartfelt and well-deserved tribute on Wednesday, April 23, at the Estádio da Luz, during half-time of the Benfica-Tirsense (4-0) second leg of the Portuguese Cup semi-finals. Captain for many years, he wore the Manto Sagrado for “14 fantastic seasons” and, on the pitch, he gave a special thanks to the fans. "This is more than soul, it's an extraordinary mystique! Only at Benfica can you feel this recognition and this glory and memory of having played for the best club in the world," said the former central defender.
