Morato, central defender of Sport Lisboa e Benfica, won the Liga Bwin 2022/23 Defender of the Month in August.

The eagles' number 91 played 90 minutes (360 minutes) in the four matches played and won by the team in the period under scrutiny, against the teams of Arouca, Casa Pia, Boavista (scored one goal) and Paços de Ferreira.

In the election, Morato beat Tormena (SC Braga) and Niakaté (SC Braga), who gathered 12,5% and 11,11%, respectively.
