League Cup Trophy

Benfica will face Moreirense, Penafiel and CF Estrela da Amadora in group C of the League Cup 2022/23, as determined by the draw that took place this Friday, September 23, in Porto.

Benfica kicks off the group stage (matchday 1) away at CF Estrela da Amadora, welcomes Penafiel to Estádio da Luz on matchday 2, and ends the group stage away at Moreirense (matchday 3). The winner of group C faces the winner of group G (Santa Clara, Arouca, Feirense, Leixões and Oliveirense) in the quarterfinals.

With a new format, with the participation of 18 clubs from the 18 clubs from Liga Bwin and 16 clubs from Liga 2, the group stage of the 16th edition of the competition integrates six groups of four teams and two groups of five teams, in a total of 56 matches to be held between November and December, in the pause of the professional leagues for the World Cup in Qatar.

The winners of the eight groups will face each other in the quarter finals, from December 20 to 23, to determine who will play the final four of the 2022/23 League Cup, scheduled to take place in the Estádio Municipal de Leiria between January 24 and 28, 2023.
