It is with great satisfaction that I congratulate the women's futsal team for winning the 7th Super Cup.

In a great spectacle for the sport, the victory was entirely fair for what they did on the court, although the decision to find the winner happened through the penalty shootout.

I want to congratulate all the athletes, the coaching team and the staff for this official start of the season. Your ambition is an example for women's sports in Portugal.

The Benfiquistas, especially those who were present in the stands in Matosinhos, will certainly be proud of this Super Cup.

Benfica fought until the end for a different outcome in the last 16 of the Club World Cup, but after extra time they fell to Chelsea (1-4), thus ending their journey in the first edition of the competition in the United States of America. In a game that was interrupted in the 86th minute due to the threat of a thunderstorm and ended almost five hours after the kick-off, Di María leveled the score at 90'+5' (1-1), taking the match into 30 minutes of extra time, during which time the result hung in the balance for the English at the Bank of America Stadium in Charlotte.
