Benfica's central defender is a new addition to the 20 Golden Boy candidates and Francisca Nazareth is one of the 10 finalists nominated for the Golden Girl, awards to be given out by the Italian newspaper "Tuttosport".

António Silva competes with Karim Adeyemi (Borussia Dortmund), Jude Bellingham (Borussia Dortmund), Eduardo Camavinga (Real Madrid), Fábio Carvalho (Liverpool), Ansu Fati (Barcelona), Gavi (Barcelona), Wilfried Gnonto (Leeds United), Gravenberch (Bayern Munich), Gvardiol (RB Leipzig), Miretti (Juventus), Musiala (Bayern Munich), Nico González (Valencia), Nuno Mendes (Paris Saint-Germain), Pedri (Barcelona), Scalvini (Atalanta), Sesko (Salzburg), Mathys Tel (Bayern Munich), Udogie (Udinese) and Zalewski (Roma).
It should be noted that Benfica has already nurtured two Golden Boy award winners: João Félix (2019) and Renato Sanches (2016). The last winner, in 2021, was Pedri (Barcelona), who joined a list with names like Haaland (2020), Mbappé (2017), Sterling (2014), Messi (2005) or Rooney (2004).
As for Francisca Nazareth, she competes for the award against Nicole Arcangeli (Juventus), Nesrine Bahlouli (Lyon), Hanna Bennison (Everton), Jule Brand (Wolfsburg), Sofie Bredgaard (Rosengard), Esmee Brugts (PSV), Anastasia Ferrara (Roma), Mary Fowler (Montpellier) and Salma Paralluelo (Barcelona).
The two awards will be presented on November 7 in Turin, Italy.
