"Foot on the throttle" for the goal: the players' reaction

Benfica thrashed Maccabi Haifa by 1-6, this Wednesday, November 2, in Israel, on matchday 6 of the Champions League. Gonçalo Ramos, Chiquinho, and Musa at the end of the match.

"We felt it was within our reach"

"I'm not sure yet how serious the injury is. It was a small touch that will still be evaluated. We came here focused on winning, then at the end, we felt it was possible to score more goals and we did. We felt it was within our reach [1st place] and we kept our foot on the throttle."

CHIQUINHO

"It's good to finish in 1st position in such a strong group"

"I was very happy [with the assist for João Mário's goal]. I wasn't sure that we were in 1st place, but of course, our focus was to build on a good win, and we got it. It's good to finish first in a group as strong as this one. It was important to win, we wanted to win, and we did it with a very positive result. The focus now is on the away match against Estoril, for the Championship. We will keep working and giving our best."
