Jéssica Silva scored the winner

The Women's Senior National Team beat Costa Rica (1-0) this Tuesday, November 15, in a friendly match that took at the FC Alverca Sports Complex and that counted with the participation of six Benfica players. 

Without Andreia Faria, the Benfica midfielder dismissed from work to deal with personal issues and that reduced the contingent to six athletes, Rute Costa was the starter in goal and Silvia Rebelo and Lucia Alves were part of the defensive quartet (Lúcia played on the right); Jéssica Silva and Francisca Nazareth were starters.

Carole CostaBenfica's central defender, who received a jersey and a plaque allusive to the 150 caps with the National Team, come on to replace Sílvia Rebelo (59').

In a great moment, Jéssica Silva decided the match. Served by Ana Borges, the red striker eluded Zamora and goalkeeper Tapia, who came out of the goal, and, with three other opponents already trying to cover spaces, she shot with her right foot for Portugal's first and only goal.

This was Jéssica's 11th goal with the senior national team.
