Benfica footballers, Otamendi and Enzo, were starters and played the full 90 minutes in Argentina's 2-1 victory over Australia in the round of 16 of the 2022 World Cup being held in Qatar. 

At the Ahmad Bin Ali Stadium, the Argentinians had more possession, shot more, had more clear chances, and ended up suffering in a game that seemed to be under control. Benfica's Otamendi was, according to Sofascore, one of the best in the Argentina side, with a score of 7.1. In addition to the assist, he made eight clearances, one interception, one tackle, won four of seven aerial duels, and hit 92% of his passes (89 out of 97).

Enzo, the other Eagle on the pitch, received a 6.8 grade from Sofascore. He registered 92% passing efficiency (92 out of 100), hit 50% of the long passes he attempted (3 out of 6), won five of the eight duels he was involved in, he made three clearances, made three tackles and one interception.

Argentina advances to the quarterfinals, where they will lock horns with the Netherlands.
