Pedro Pichardo elected Athlete of the Year 2022 by CNID
Diogo Matos Ribeiro and Fernando Pimenta, Benfica's swimmer and canoeist, respectively, completed the men's podium; in the women's category, Bárbara Timo, the eagles' judoka, was the third most voted.

Benfica's triple jumper, Pedro Pablo Pichardo, was distinguished by the Clube Nacional da Imprensa Desportiva (CNID) as the 2022 Men's Athlete of the Year.
The Benfica athlete, a specialist in the triple jump, thus repeats the distinction of 2021, he who, in the year now ending, won the European and World Indoor Track Championships.
In a podium just with Benfica athletes, the 2nd place went to swimmer Diogo Matos Ribeiro and the 3rd place to Fernando Pimenta, both with several records and achievements in 2022.
In the women's category, Benfica judoka Bárbara Timo was the third most-voted athlete for the CNID awards this year.
